Welcome

Harris Orpington161From Richard Carey, Head of Academy, and David Astin, Executive Principal

We are delighted to welcome you to the Harris Academy Orpington website. It is with enormous pride that we introduce our incredible school and the opportunities that benefit students so much. At Harris Academy Orpington, we have the most incredible facilities, staff and students and we are very proud of the work that our students do here. We have developed a curriculum that is ambitious and broad. We believe young people need to nurture an appreciation of human creativity and achievement and have designed a curriculum that does just that.

Harris Bromley Girls049We believe that young people can achieve anything they want if we work together. Our motto of Together, We Can cascades across every aspect of our provision and underpins everything that we think is important. We have created a community where our young people are listened to, involved in decision making and helping to make the Academy great! We want our students to leave the Academy, ambitious about their futures, tenacious enough to continue when there is struggle and enterprising enough to succeed!

We are also pleased to highlight our work as a Health Science Specialist school, with students being given access to recognised professional qualifications and careers. We have also been awarded the Equalities Gold Award for our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. We ‘stand proudly as a beacon of good practice for other schools to learn from.’ (Equali-teach)

We understand that the decision about which school you should send your child is very important. That’s why at Harris Academy Orpington we work hard to build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with the families of all our children.

If you would like to come and see the academy in action and are not able to attend one of our open mornings, please contact us either by phone on 01689 819219 or via email at info@harrisorpington.org.uk. We would be delighted to show you around our academy, of which we are extremely proud.

Mr Richard Carey, Head of Academy

Mr David Astin, Executive Principal
