HAO celebrates amazing GCSE results!!
This week the Department for Education published the provisional GCSE results
for schools in England.
As well as publishing overall grades, the Department has published ‘Progress 8’ scores which show how much progress students make during their time at secondary school.
I am delighted that Harris Academy Orpington has achieved a provisional Progress 8 score of +0.15.
This means that students attending our school are making more progress than many of their peers at other schools across the country. This is excellent news and shows the value of a Harris Academy Orpington education.
I am also very pleased to report that we additionally achieved incredibly strong Sixth Form results this summer, and it has been wonderful to welcome so many of last year’s GCSE students to our Sixth Form this term. They have had an excellent start to their Sixth Form studies and are enjoying all the opportunities available here.

Our motto is ‘Together We Can’ and these results just go to show what we can achieve when children, families and schools work together.
We know that the children would not have achieved these incredible results without the support you provide at home and so we would like to thank you, too!
If you have friends/family with Year 5/6 children in primary schools, preparing to begin their secondary education journey, or Year 11 students seeking an outstanding Sixth Form, please let them know about our fantastic results.
We are always happy to speak to prospective families and discuss what we can offer their child/ren, and to welcome people in to see the school ‘live’ during a typical academy morning.
We hope you have an enjoyable and restful break, and that you enjoy Christmas if you are celebrating. We look forward to seeing you in the New Year!
