Pearson - Highly Commended Outstanding New Teacher of the Year

We are so proud to announce that our amazing Mrs Crouch has been recognised as a Highly Commended Nominee for Outstanding New Teacher of the Year!

Please do congratulate Mrs Crouch who changed her career path to become an outstanding teacher just under 3 years ago, and has been recognised for her incredible impact and passion in ensuring a love of learning in her students.

As noted by Ms Matthews who nominated her:

“Infectious passion” for her subject is how many, describe Niccola’s love of history.

Walking past Niccola’s classroom, you can guarantee she is on her feet recounting a story from the past with passion and intrigue; so much so, you can hear the students’ dismay that the lesson will be left on a cliff-hanger, and they will need to wait for the next instalment.

The way her love of history allows students to see the people of the past as real, living and breathing people has inspired students to study history outside the classroom and it makes her a perfect nominee of The Award for Outstanding New Teacher of the Year.”

As the Pearson National Teaching Awards say for this category, 'an outstanding new teacher brings new ideas and enthusiasm to the school... They inspire and engage children, so they all thrive, enjoy learning and achieve well.' and we couldn’t agree more that this is what Mrs Crouch embodies.
