Introducing our new Student Principal and Student Vice Principal

The role of head boy and girl has a long standing history within education. But at Harris Academy Orpington we feel this role should be decided based on the person for the position and not on their gender. With this in mind, from 2022, the title of head boy/girl was replaced with Student Principal.

We would therefore like to formally congratulate Year 12 pupil, Holly Pettet who has been appointed the prestigious titles of Student Principal for the next academic year. Holly comments;

As being chosen for student principal, I feel honoured and very grateful for being trusted with the role of representing the pupils of Harris Academy Orpington.

The role of Vice Student Principal is awarded to George Rothwell. George who is passionate to get started commented;

Thank you for this opportunity I will always try my best to make everyone in this school to be appreciated and valued.

All pupils underwent a rigorous  application process, including presenting themselves in assemblies. All students performed amazingly throughout the entire process and it was a very close call.

We are confident that they will ensure positive changes and are excited for this next academic year.

Well done to you all!
